thinking out loud…er, on paper…keyboard

I always have a problem collaborating with others on projects, books and CDs and tours, as I tend to have my own vision.

Never worked with anyone who vibrated just right to play well in the sandbox with me.  Okay, one, but she’s not around anymore.

So I have a little skull session with a friend and decide it is time to start working on the new book.  Title picked in no time.  But now, I start the Teflon treadmill wear I’m brainstorming on form, format, size, design, content.

I am thinking about making this another monster volume like The Compleat Panther Cycles.  Or, maybe not.  I have enough material, that’s for sure.  I have enough for 25 volumes that size.  Of course, when we peel it down by theme, probably only 15-20 that size.

Then I start pondering layout, art design, format.  I’m a mile down the road before I can even get word to my collaborators on what I am thinking.  Makes it tough to poll others.  I’m just not used to working in slow motion.

Will the collaboration on loveaddict hold?  Will I get what I want out of this book?  Will Selke show up fro lunch later this week?

Only time will tell.
