reconnecting with Tony Winston

Written by William F. DeVault on January 14, 2010 – 2:34 pm -

Just today I reconnected, thanks to the kind folks at Facebook, with someone I had not heard from or seen since probably Spring of 1974.  That was a pleasant surprise.

Back then I knew him as Anthony Winston, one of the long-haired bohemians I occasionally hung with at Morgantown High School.  Now he is Tony Winston, a successful swing musician and singer…I recommend looking him up via his website at

www.tonywinston.com

He is gifted, for sure, and the joy at reconnecting with an old acquaintance (did I say friend?  my recollections of him are almost universally fond, so I will stick with that) is there.

I also found his rather startlingly amazing rendition of "I Left My Heart In San Francisco" on blip.fm and recommend you give at least that much of a listen.
