another side project
Written by William F. DeVault on August 4, 2010 – 4:11 am -Over the next few weeks I have several major and side projects due to come to fruition, and I just added another.
Many visitors here also come to my "official" site at williamfdevault.com largely for the illustrative works there, where selected poems of mine have been married to art and photography by some very talented people from around the world.
I plan to make some changes there. Some works coming down, some going up and some illustrations changing as I have found stronger and better works.
If you haven’t yet been there, go, so that you will know what changed and can gripe about the changes more earnestly. If you have been there, and want some things to stay the same, let me know. I am not a total iconoclast, especially when the icon in question is me.

with apologies
Written by William F. DeVault on October 8, 2009 – 1:16 pm -I mistakenly posted a link on this blog, the other day, for a purported poetry website that included a link to Poetry.com, a notorious scam website that preys on inexperienced and uninformed writers. I can only plead that I did not read fully the entire list of sites they were endorsing.
I have deleted the link and apologize.

Lady Martist’s website
Written by William F. DeVault on September 20, 2009 – 1:03 pm -
Occasional muse and good friend of mine Mariya Andriichuk pleasantly surprised me earlier today by launching her website, which includes several of the poems that I have written out of inspiration for ther lovely works.
Please pay her a visit, with the caveat that there is substantial nudity in her works and if you are offended by such things, you may not be comfortable.
Here is one of her inspiring works, entitled "God’s Care".
The site can be found at:

Black Cat Poems
Written by William F. DeVault on March 11, 2009 – 7:52 am -I’d like to thank Walt for inviting me to hang with poets like Rimbaud, Sappho and Blake at his website Black Cat Poems (link also on the right under Recommended Sites). He approached me yesterday wanting to exchange links and asking permission to include a few of my poems on the site.
It’s a good site and I have every belief it will grow and become a superb resource for poetry lovers.
Thanks, Walt.

Must Visit Websites #6, hulu.com
Written by William F. DeVault on February 21, 2009 – 5:55 pm -Thought I had forgotten you, eh? Nope, just playing out the chaos.
Here’s a strange little site that makes those of you (us) with any level of TV addiction happy, http://www.hulu.com.
From clips from various comedy shows to full length movies, from episodes of the 60’s sci-fi classic "The Time Tunnel" to this week’s episode of "ER", this place has thousands of mind-rotting passtimes. Go ahead an take a look, browse to your heart’s content.
Here’s a clip to enjoy, courtesy of hulu.com:
This is the recent Anne Hathaway sketch from Saturday Night Live, where we learn that Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is actually an STD.

Must Visit Websites, #8: Funny or Die
Written by William F. DeVault on December 21, 2008 – 10:20 am -Want to laugh so hard you can’t explain yourself to the person in the next room? Three great stress releases, you know, and laughter is one of them (It’s one of the two I clearly remember).
The mountain of talented and celebrated people who contribute to this hopelessly subversive site, home to the legendary "Landlord" video clip, don’t always hit the target head on, but it refreshing to know they are still willing to share even the raw and rough stuff.
Be prepared to laugh. Or die. Or both.

Must Visit Websites, #9: The Internet Public Library
Written by William F. DeVault on December 12, 2008 – 9:31 am -If this was the only site on the web, the web would be earning its keep.
This virtual public library links to a seeming endless stream of books, magazines, newspapers and informational sites, avoiding the rather mob mentality of the Wiki-Worlds. Newspapers and magazine from around the world, virtual journals and Project Gutenberg texts for thousands upon thousands of books, from classic novels to technical journals.

Must Visit Websites, #10: Real Clear World
Written by William F. DeVault on December 11, 2008 – 10:01 am -I am putting together a list of the ten most important sites, to my use of the web.
My #10 pick is Real Clear World (www.realclearworld.com), a site that collects news and features from around the world. A sister site to RealClearPolitics, which I became hooked on during the recent Presidential Campaign, this is a superb resource for anyone as into foreign affairs (stop snickering) as I am.

improving your listening experience
Written by William F. DeVault on November 20, 2008 – 6:14 am -Out of the goodness of my heart. And to silence the people griping. I have modified the free CD track page at www.williamfdevault.com to include a player.
(sound of crickets)
Hey.
Maybe I need to explain more fully. When you go to the page (linked above, for the truly lazy amongst you) with the free tracks, you will find the old, gold table for downloads, with the tracks delineated by CD.
But you will also find, at the top of the page (just below and to the left of banner model Christina Banderas, had to get in a plug for her again) a javascript player, pre-loaded with 27 tracks totaling well over two hours of readings and interpretations, most with music, ranging in genre from folk to rock, electric synthesizers to pastoral cithara. I like to play, what can I say?
So you can click the play button and sit back and not have to click new tracks (unless you want to replay or skip a track or just keep listening to The Gods of Love, Live at Kyrienar until your head explodes.
